Mississippi State, the No. 14 ranked team in men’s college basketball, will head to Alabama on Tuesday night for a SEC showdown with the No. 2 ranked team in the country, Auburn, at Neville Arena. The Auburn Tigers, one of the best teams in the country, are 15-1 heading into this week in the schedule. They have yet to lose a conference game, opening up 3-0 against SEC teams. Their only loss on the season came against No. 4 Duke after taking down No. 3 Iowa State and No. 19 Memphis in two of the three games before that loss.

They have also beaten No. 12 Houston and No. 20 Purdue this season. Their three conference wins came against Missouri at home by 16 points, Texas on the road by five points, and South Carolina on the road by three points. Player of the Year candidate Johni Broome leads the No. 2 ranked team in all major statistical categories, averaging 17.9 points, 3.3 assists, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs head into the hardest game of their schedule so far with one conference loss already suffered at the hands of Kentucky over the weekend. They also have a rough loss to Butler outside of the conference and the AP Top 25 rankings. The game against Kentucky opened up a four-game stretch of Top 25 ranked teams for them, concluding with No. 1 Tennessee next week.
