No. 7 seed Nevada takes on 10th-seeded Fresno State in a Mountain West tournament first round game on Wednesday.

Nevada (16-15) closed its regular season with three straight losses to finish 8-12 in the Mountain West Conference. On Wednesday, the seventh-seeded Wolf Pack open play at the Mountain West tournament against No. 10 seed Fresno State (6-25) at the Thomas & Mack Center in suburban Las Vegas. The Bulldogs have been without Jalen Weaver since Feb. 22, when he left the program after allegations of ties to gambling on their games. Mykell Robinson left the program on Jan. 11 and was named in the same investigation, while Zaon Collins has been reinstated. Nevada has played in the last two NCAA tournaments, while Fresno State’s last appearance was in 2016. The winner advances to face No. 2 seed Colorado State in a Thursday quarterfinal.
