This season the Big Ten is going to be a gauntlet for teams in women’s college basketball. Nebraska (10-3) is learning that early in conference play with arguably the toughest back-to-back games any team could play. The Cornhuskers are coming off a loss to top ranked UCLA and now turn their attention to JuJu Watkins and fourth-ranked USC (12-1). The Trojans have a case to be the top-ranked team in the country right now, winning eight straight games, including two against fellow ranked opponents. In their first two games in the Big Ten this season the Trojans have dominated, winning by a combined 33 points. This is the Trojans first season in the Big Ten.

Watkins has been dynamic in her first two games as a Big Ten member. She is averaging 26.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 32.5 minutes per game. This season Watkins is building as good of a resume as any player in the country has for National Player of the Year.

For the Cornhuskers this season all three of their losses came against teams that have been ranked this season. Two of those losses came in their last two games heading into this matchup on a two-game losing streak.

Senior Alexis Markowski will be the key for the Cornhuskers to pull off an upset against the Trojans. She is averaging 14.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. In the Cornhuskers three losses this season Markowski has 49 points and 24 rebounds on 44.6 percent shooting from the field.
