Donovan Dent and New Mexico will take the court against Ian Martinez and Utah State in a Mountain West battle on Saturday.

New Mexico will travel to Logan, Utah, this weekend for a showdown between two Mountain West Conference teams. On Saturday, they will face off against Utah State at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The Utah State Aggies are 19-2 overall this season and have suffered their first defeat against a conference team, now sitting at 9-1 against MWC teams. They are tied for the lead in the conference with their opponent. After being ranked No. 22 in the AP Top 25, they lost to UNLV on the road by three points in that MWC loss.

However, they ended out January with a three-game winning streak, beating Nevada by 21 points at home, Air Force by 29 points on the road, and UNLV in a revenge game by five points at home. Deyton Albury led the team in that revenge win with 16 points on a 6-for-9 shooting night. The New Mexico Lobos are 17-4 overall this season and are the one other team tied with Utah State with a 9-1 record against teams in the conference. They are one game ahead of Colorado State, the next closest team. They closed out the month with a game last weekend against UNLV, winning on the road by two points.

Donovan Dent led the game with a massive 34-point performance. Nelly Junior Joseph also dominated in the win with a massive double-double, dropping 22 points while pulling down 18 rebounds. Dent leads New Mexico in scoring this season, averaging 19.6 points per game through 21 appearances. He is also averaging 2.2 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
