Charleston (17-6) dropped into a fourth-place tie in the Coastal Athletic Association after a road loss on Monday left it at 7-3 in conference play. On Thursday, the Cougars look to bounce back when they host struggling North Carolina A&T (4-19) at TD Arena in Charleston, South Carolina. The Aggies have lost nine straight games and are 0-10 in the CAA. Charleston has played in the last two NCAA tournaments while A&T’s last March Madness bid was in 2013. The Aggies played in the 2018 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament, losing in the first round.

The Cougars had no answers for the offensive efficiency of William & Mary on Monday night, dropping a 90-75 decision. Derrin Boyd led the offense with 21 points, Ante Brzovic added 20 and Lazar Djokovic had 11 rebounds. Brkovic averages 18.4 points and 8.4 rebounds and with Deywilk Tavarez sidelined with an undisclosed injury, Boyd is next in the scoring order at 14.0 points per game. CJ Fulton books 7.6 points and 6.3 assists a night.

North Carolina A&T fell behind early and never recovered in an 83-59 defeat at the hands of visiting UNC Wilmington on Jan. 30. Jahnathan Lamothe scored 20 points and Nikolaos Chitikoudis tossed in 16. Leading scorers Ryan Forrest and Landon Glasper were suspended indefinitely before the game for violating of team rules. That leaves Lamothe, at 11.6 points per game, as the No. 1 option, while Chitikoudis averages 10.1 points and 9.0 boards.

Charleston is 3-1 all-time in the series and has won the last three meetings, including an 80-58 win at home on Feb. 8. The teams are set to meet again in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Feb. 15. Chris Mack is in his first season coaching the Cougars, replacing Pat Kelsey after he left for Louisville. Monté Ross is 11-44 in his second season with the Aggies.
