The Spartans are leading the Mid-Eastern standings with a conference record of 5-1 and an overall record of 15-8. Norfolk State has also won three games in a row after beating South Carolina State in a narrow 67-65 overtime victory at home on Saturday night. The high-intensity game saw eight ties and nine lead changes. Terrance Jones came off the bench to lead the Spartans in scoring with 20 points while Brian Moore Jr. was right behind him with 18 points. Jaylani Darden led the team on the boards with nine rebounds and added five points to the scoreboard.

The Spartans and Eagles have met a total of 23 times and the Eagles currently hold a 12-11 lead in the series. The teams last met during regular season play last year and the game went in the Spartans’ favori with an 80-74 victory.
