Notre Dame will look to break a four game losing streak on Tuesday night with a road win over Georgia in men’s basketball action.
On Tuesday night, Georgia will host Notre Dame at Stegeman Coliseum in the ACC/SEC Challenge. The Fighting Irish have struggle recently and hope to earn their first win in nearly two weeks. The team comes into Tuesday’s game with a record of 4-4 so far, but have dropped its last four games with the most recent being an 80-76 defeat by No. 21 Creighton to close out the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.
Against the Blue Jays, Tae Davis and Braeden Shrewsberry led the Fighting Irish with 17 points apiece while Matt Allocco and Kebba Nije joined them in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Nije led on the boards for Notre Dame, pulling down six rebounds in the loss. The Fighting Irish finished the game shooting 43 percent from the field and 39 percent from long range while going 11-for-15 from the free throw line.

The Bulldogs come into Tuesday’s home game with a record of 7-1 so far this season and are currently on a two-game win streak. The team’s only loss of the season came against Marquette in an 80-69 defeat in the Bahamas last weekend, but the Bulldogs bounced back to beat St. John’s (66-63) in the tournament and Jacksonville in a big 102-56 win at home on Saturday.
Dakota Leffew came off the bench to pace six Bulldogs to double figures with a 16-point performance. Silas Demary Jr. and Tyrin Lawrence each finished the game with 14 points, Somtochukwu “somto” Cyril and Dylan James each scored 13 points and Asa Newell added 12 points to the scoreboard in the win. Cyril led on the boards for the Bulldogs with five rebounds, all of which were defensive.
Georgia and Notre Dame have met four times before, all neutral site affairs. After the Fighting Irish won the first two matchups, the Bulldogs returned the favor with back-to-back victories in the most recent contests with the most recent being a 77-62 victory.
