The men’s college basketball postseason is underway and on Tuesday afternoon, 13th-seeded Pitt will take on 12th-seeded Notre Dame at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina to open the ACC tournament. The Panthers closed out regular season play with an overall record of 17-14 and a conference record of 8-12 to earn a spot in postseason play. The team hosted Boston College on Saturday in the regular season finale, winning handily in a 93-67 victory in front of nearly 8,000 fans. Brandin Cunningham and Cameron Corhen led the Pitt offense with 16 points each while Jaland Lowe finished right behind them with 15 points. Lowe also earned a double-double in the win by providing 10 assists. The team finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from long range for a strong offensive performance.

The Fighting Irish finished the regular season just ahead of the Panthers, turning in an overall record of 14-17 and an ACC record of 8-12. The team went on a two-game win streak to close out conference play, beating Cal 112-110 in a quadruple-overtime thriller on Saturday in South Bend. Markus Burtun led all scorers with a career-high 43 points, 21 of which came during the four overtime periods. Matt Allocco added 24 points to the scoreboard in the win while Nikita Konstantynovskyi led on the boards with a massive 17 rebounds.
