The No. 8-seeded Ole Miss will take on the No. 1-seeded Auburn in a quarterfinal matchup in the Southeastern Conference Tournament at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday afternoon. The No. 8-seeded Rebels are 22-10 overall this season after picking up a win in the second round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday with a game against the No. 9-seeded Akransas and John Calipari. They won that game by three points, 83-80, despite leading at the halftime break by eight points and allowing Arkansas to fight back.

Malik Dia led the team with 19 points on a very efficient 7-for-8 shooting. Four of the five starters for Ole Miss finished in double figures as Dia was joined by Jaylen Murray with 17 points, Sean Pedulla with 10 points, and Matthew Murrell with 12 points. Dia also had eight rebounds while Murray led the team with five assists in the win.

The No. 1-seeded Tigers wrapped up their season with a 27-4 record and a national ranking of No. 3 on the AP poll. They finished 15-3 against teams in the conference with a one game lead over nationally-ranked No. 4 Florida. They closed out their season with two straight losses against former No. 22 Texas A&M and No. 7 Alabama.

All-SEC first-team forward Johni Broome leads the team in scoring this season and has been a force inside. He is averaging 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.4 blocks per game. He is followed by Chad Baker-Mazara, who will need to keep his temper under control and is averaging 12.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 rebounds per game.
