Michigan State hits the court on Friday afternoon to take on Oregon in the Men’s Big Ten Tournament Quarterfinals.

The Michigan State Spartans look to stay hot on Friday afternoon when they take on the Oregon Ducks in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. The Spartans finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak and it helped them win the Big Ten title. They ended the season 26-5 overall and 17-3 in the Big Ten, three games ahead of Maryland and Michigan, who came in second. They have been red-hot, as five of their last seven wins have come against ranked opponents and they won all but one game by at least seven points. Jaden Akins has been the team’s top scorer at 12.9 points per game, while Jase Richardson is also averaging in double figures at 11.6 per game.

Richardson scored 29 points in their win against the Ducks back at the beginning of February. It wasn’t an easy win, as they trailed the Ducks by 14 points at halftime, before they exploded in the second half to outscore them by 26 points to get the 86-74 victory.

The Ducks couldn’t finish off the Spartans in the first game, but will look to do it on Friday in the quarterfinals.

The Ducks earned another opportunity against the Spartans thanks to a 72-59 win over Indiana in the second round.

It was a close game, but the Ducks finished the game on a 16-5 run to get the 13-point win. Jackson Shelstad led the way with 18 points, while TJ Bamba and Brandon Angel added 17 and 14 points, respectively.

The win on Thursday was their seventh in a row and pushed their record to 23-8 overall, as they continue to solidify their resume for the NCAA Tournament.
