The Friars came into this tournament with an undefeated 5-0 record They had played all five games at home in Providence, Rhode Island, at Amica Mutual Pavilion. They opened the season against Central Connecticut, following it up with wins against Stonehill, Hampton, Green Bay, and most recently, Delaware State before the tournament began.

They opened the tournament against Oklahoma and lost by two points in regulation for the team’s first loss of the season. Despite the loss, Wesley Cardet Jr, the senior guard, led the team with 17 points and two rebounds. Jayden Pierre had 16 points with six rebounds and five assists on the night. Bensley Joseph also had 16 points with five rebounds and three assists.

In the first round of the Battle 4 Atlantis, they faced off with the No. 24 ranked team in the nation, Arizona. They ended up losing 104-71 in that game. Connor Kochera led the team in the loss with 20 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Bobby Durkin was the only other player on the team in double figures with 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists.
