Rhode Island (9-0) is off to its best start in more than 70 years and plays its first true road game of the season on Tuesday night when it visits Brown (6-3) at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Rams haven’t gone to the postseason since the 2018 NCAA tournament and were 12-20 last season. The Bears, meanwhile, have won five straight games and look for their first postseason action since the 2019 CBI. Brown hasn’t gone to the NCAA tournament since 1986 and was 13-18 a season ago.

Rhode Island roared back in the second half for a 69-63 victory over visiting Providence on Saturday afternoon. Sebastian Thomas dropped in 19 points and Jaden House added 18 in the victory. Thomas averages 16.8 points and 7.3 assists, David Green puts up 16.6 points per game and David Fuchs posts 5.8 points and 6.7 boards a night.

Kino Lilly Jr. canned a three-pointer with three seconds left to carry the Bears to a 76-75 win at Bryant on Friday. Lilly finished with 23 points and Landon Lewis tossed in 21. Lilly scores 19.9 points per game, with Lewis putting down 14.9 points per contest and Aaron Cooley averaging 12.4 points and 7.9 rebounds.

The Rams are 109-56 all-time against Brown but have lost the last three meetings, including a 67-64 decision at home on Dec. 6, 2023. Coach Archie Miller is 30-42 in his third season with Rhode Island, while the Bears are led by Mike Martin, who has a 154-174 record in his 12th year.
