With both teams looking to snap two-game losing streaks as they get into Big Ten play, Ohio State welcomes conference foe Rutgers to Value City Arena in Columbus on Saturday. After opening conference play with a loss in College Park earlier this week, the Buckeyes search for their first BIg Ten win of the season at home this weekend, where they’re 4-1 on the season. Ohio State is 5-3 overall with their lone home loss coming against No. 18 Pitt last week. Rutgers, on the other hand, has lost two consecutive games to drop to 5-3 overall with an 1-3 record away from Jersey Mike’s Arena this season. Last season, Ohio State cruised to a 73-51 win over Rutgers, with the Buckeyes winning the last two meetings between these two teams.Â

Most recently, Ohio State couldn’t keep pace with Maryland in an 83-59 loss to the Terps in College Park on Wednesday night. Devin Royal led the Buckeyes with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds. Freshman John Mobley Jr. also added 15 points in the second half with three three-pointers and four rebounds in the loss.
As for Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights lost a close one to nationally ranked Texas A&M by a final score of 81-77 in Las Vegas last Saturday. Freshman stars Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper were the bright spots once again for Rutgers, with Bailey finishing with a team-high 24 points. Harper added 18 points, but Rutgers couldn’t hang on in the second half against the Aggies.
