Loyola Chicago goes for its third straight win on Friday afternoon when it takes on Saint Louis

The Loyola Chicago Ramblers begin their run in the A-10 Tournament when they take on the Saint Louis Billikens. The Ramblers finished the regular season at 21-10 overall and 12-6 in the A-10. They finished tied with Dayton for third place in the conference standings and earned a bye into the quarterfinals. The Ramblers have won seven of their last eight games, but that one loss came against the Billikens two weeks ago. They beat the Billikens in the first meeting in the middle of February, but lost by 31 on the road. They trailed by 20 at halftime and couldn’t recover and were blown out. Jayden Dawson has been the team’s top scorer at 13.5 points per game. Des Watson and Sheldon Edwards Jr. are also scoring in double figures at 12.6 and 12.2 points per game respectively.

The Billikens come into Friday on a two-game winning streak and have won five of their last six.

They finished the regular season 18-13 overall and 11-7 in the A-10. They then got by Davidson on Thursday in their first tournament game 83-75.

They led the Wildcats at halftime, but saw themselves down with five minutes left. They would outscore them by 10 to finish the game and get the win.

Isaiah Swope had a great game as he scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Billikens to the win.

Swope is now averaging 16.4 points per game, which is third best on the team. Gibson Jimerson and Robbie Avilla are the top two scorers at 18.3 and 17.4 points per game respectively.
