Saint Mary’s will travel to Corvallis, Oregon, this weekend for a men’s college basketball clash of two West Coast Conference teams. On Saturday, they will match up against Oregon State at Gill Coliseum. The Saint Mary’s Gaels are 20-4 overall this season. After finishing 10-3 against non-conference teams, they have since gone 10-1 against teams in the West Coast Conference. They are on the top of the conference, holding a 1.5-game lead over San Francisco and a three-game lead over their opponent this weekend.

After an undefeated January and an opening against Gonzaga by four points, they lost their first conference game of the season on Thursday by one point against San Francisco on the road. Despite the loss, Augustas Marciulionis led the game with 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting and a team-high seven assists. Mitchell Saxen had the team’s only double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds with two assists.
The Oregon State Beavers are 17-7 overall this season. They went 10-3 against non-conference teams and, in the last two months, have gone 7-4 against teams in the conference. They are a half-game behind Santa Clara and a game in front of Loyola Marymount. They are also three games behind the conference leader.
They opened February up on Thursday with a win at home against Washington State in Corvallis. Michael Rataj dropped 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting in the win with a team-high eight rebounds. Nate Kingz led the team with five assists paired with 15 points and six rebounds on 2-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
