Saint Mary’s looks to stay unbeaten in WCC play on Saturday night when it visits Washington State

The Saint Mary’s Gaels begin a two-game road trip on Saturday night when they visits the Washington State Cougars. The Gaels come into Saturday on a seven-game winning strea and it has pushed their record to 17-3. All seven of those wins have come in the WCC and they sit in first place in the conference standings, two games up on both Santa Clara and Gonzaga. The Gaels haven’t lost since falling to Utah State back on December 22nd. It has been an impressive start to conference play for the Gaels and they will look to stay hot on Saturday night against the Cougars. They have been led by Augustas Marciulionis who is scoring a team-best 13.7 points per game. Paulius Murauskas is right behind him at 12.8 points per game while also leading the team in rebounding at 8.5 boards per game.

The Cougars will be loooking to pull off the huge upset over the Gaels on Saturday night as they try and bounce back from a 93-65 loss on the road to Santa Clara.

The loss snapped a two-game winning streak and dropped them to 15-6 overall and 5-3 in their first season in the WCC.

The game on Thrusday agasint Santa Clara was their worst of the year, but it doesn’t get any easier on Saturday night.

The Cougars have been led by Cedric Coward this season as he is averaing a team-best 17.7 points a game while also grabbing 7.0 rebounds per game.
