Indiana, who has fallen from the rankings, hosts Sam Houston at Assembly Hall on Tuesday night in college basketball.
Indiana (5-2) plummeted from No. 14 and then out of the Associated Press Top 25 after a disastrous trip to the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas last week where they won just one of three games and placed seventh in the eight-team event. On Tuesday night, the Hoosiers are back at Assembly Hall in Bloomington where they are 4-0 this season to take on Sam Houston (4-4). The school is fresh off a 1-2 trip to the Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Indiana salvaged its final game at Paradise Island on Friday, beating Providence 89-73. Mackenzie Mgbako went for 25 points and Malik Reneau added 21 points, while Oumar Ballo grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked three shots. Mgbano scores 17.3 points per game, Reneau gets 14.6 points a night and Ballo averages 13.1 points and 8.4 boards.
The Bearkats went ahead for good on a pair of free throws from Brennen Burns with 3:05 left and beat Colgate on Saturday afternoon 82-78 in a game neither team led by more than six. Lamar Wilkerson scored 17 points, while Burns and Dorian Finster each added 15 points. Wilkerson posts 19.6 points per game, Finster averages 11.4 points and 7.0 rebounds and Marcus Boykin books 8.2 points and 6.0 assists per contest.
The Hoosiers won the only meeting between the teams on Nov. 15, 2012, beating visiting Sam Houston 99-45. Indiana last played in the NCAA tournament in 2023 and turned down an NIT bid after a 19-14 season in 2023-24. Coach Mike Woodson is 68-42 in his fourth season at his alma mater. The Bearkats were in the 2023 NIT but haven’t gone dancing since 2010. They were 21-12 last season and Chris Mudge is 25-16 in his second year as head coach.
