On Wednesday night, the Aztecs head to the mountains for a college basketball matchup with Air Force (3-15) at Clune Arena on the campus of the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. The Falcons are 0-7 in conference play and have lost eight straight games overall. San Diego State has played in the last four NCAA tournaments, reaching the championship game in 2023. Air Force’s last Big Dance invitation was in 2006 and it hasn’t played in the postseason since the 2013 CollegeInsider.com Tournament.

The Aztecs trailed by eight at halftime and never got closer than three points in the second half of their 76-68 loss to UNLV on Saturday. Miles Byrd scored 21 points and Nick Boyd added 16. Byrd gets 14.7 points per game and Boyd nets 12.6 points a night, while Jared Coleman-Jones averages 7.3 points and 5.4 rebounds.

The Falcons fell into a 17-point halftime hole at Fresno State on Friday and got no closer than seven in a 74-65 defeat. Luke Kearney finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Ethan Taylor tossed in 16 points with six assists. Taylor averages 14.8 points and 5.8 rebounds and is the lone double-figure scorer on the squad.

San Diego State is 65-24 against Air Force and has a nine-game winning streak in the series, including a 77-64 victory in Colorado Springs on Feb. 6.
