They started the month with a road game against New Mexico, losing by one point in overtime despite Kobe Sanders dropping a game-high 21 points on 6-of-18 shooting. They stayed on the road and came out on the other side of an overtime game, beating Fresno State by 11 in overtime. Nick Davidson led the game in that win with 20 points. They made it back-to-back wins after beating Air Force at home earlier this week.

The San Jose State Spartans are 9-10 overall this season and looking to bring their overall record back to a .500 level. However, in their seven conference games this season, they are just 2-5, a half-game back from Nevada and a 1.5-game lead over the two teams that are winless against MWC teams. They lost their first two games of the month by six points on the road to UNLV and by seven points at home to No. 22 Utah State.

However, they also bring a two-game win streak into this weekend after taking down Air Force on the road by seven points last weekend and New Mexico at home by one point earlier this week. Latrell Davis made a game-winning jumper with two seconds left to lift San Jose State to victory. Josh Uduje leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
