Mountain West play will continue on Tuesday night for San Jose State with a road game against San Diego State in men’s basketball action.

The San Jose State Spartans will travel on Tuesday for a Mountain West matchup against the San Diego State Aztecs at Viejas Arena. The Spartans are currently in ninth place in the conference standings with a Mountain West record of 3-6 and an overall record of 10-11. On Saturday, the Spartans hosted Wyoming and played to a 67-58 win over the visiting Cowboys. Latrell Davis came off the bench to lead the San Jose State offense with 22 points, while Sadaidriene Hall and Will McClendon joined him in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively. McClendon earned a double-double in the win by pulling down a team-leading 10 rebounds. The team finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field and 42 percent from long range, while going 15-for-19 from the line for a strong offensive team performance.

The Aztecs come into Tuesday night’s game on a two-game win streak after beating Nevada, 69-50, over the weekend to move to 6-3 in conference play and 13-5 overall, putting them in fourth place in the Mountain West standings. Against the Wolf Pack, Magoon Gwath led the scoring efforts for the Aztecs with a 15-point performance and also led on the boards with 13 rebounds to earn a double-double in the win. Taj DeGourville and Miles Byrd chipped in 14 and 11 points, respectively, to help the team finish shooting 48 percent from the field.

San Diego State and San Jose State have met 84 times in their history and the Aztecs currently hold a 49-35 advantage in the all-time series. The teams’ last meeting took place last season and resulted in a 72-64 win for the Aztecs at home.
