The Mustangs have played well so far this season which has them sitting at 10-4 in ACC play and 19-6 overall for a spot in fifth place in the standings. The team had been on a five-game win streak, but it was broken by Wake Forest on Saturday in a 77-66 loss. Four Mustangs finished in double figures, led by Chuck Harris who scored 15 points. Kario Oquendo and Matt Cross each pulled down nine rebounds to lead on the boards, both narrowly missing double-doubles with their 13 and 11 point-performances, respectively. While the Mustangs took a two-point lead into halftime, the Demon Deacons found a way to shut down the offense and outscored SMU by 13 in the second half to win it.

Wednesday’s game between SMU and Notre Dame will be the first meeting between the teams as ACC opponents. The teams have only met five times in their history and Notre Dame holds a 4-1 lead in the series.
