SMU goes for its fourth straight win in college basketball on Wednesday night when it visits Virginia Tech.

The SMU Mustangs hit the road on Wednesday night to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in college basketball. The Mustangs come into Wednesday on a three-game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games. They now sit at 17-5 overall and 8-3 in their first season in the ACC. They have struggled against the top teams in the ACC, as they have lost to Duke, UNC and Louisville by double digits. They have taken care of business against the bottom of the conference, though, and are looking to stay hot on Wednesday night. The Mustangs have been led by Boopie Miller, who is scoring a team-best 13.6 points per game. Matt Cross is leading the team in rebounding at 8.4 boards per game while also scoring 11.4 points per game. As a team the Mustangs are averaging 82.9 points per game.

The Hokies are back home on Wednesday after playing their last two games on the road. It was a good trip, as they beat both Florida State and Virginia to push their record to 10-12 overall and 5-6 in the ACC.

The Hokies had dropped three in a row, but are trying to turn things around and get back to .500 in conference play.

Scoring has been a problem for the Hokies, as they are averaging just 70.0 points per game as a team. Tobi Lawai is the only player averaging in double figures for the Hokies at 13.0 points per game. He is also leading the team with 6.7 rebounds per game.
