South Carolina and Vanderbilt will meet on Wednesday night in a men’s SEC basketball matchup in Nashville.

The South Carolina Gamecocks will hit the road on Wednesday to travel to Nashville for an SEC college basketball contest against Vanderbilt at Memorial Gym. The Gamecocks are still in search of their first conference win, as they currently sit at 0-3 in SEC play and 10-6 overall for a spot at the very bottom of the SEC standings. The team has now lost three games in a row with the most recent being a close 66-63 loss to No. 2 Auburn on Saturday at home. In a game that was expected to be a blowout, the score was tied six times and the lead changed nine times. Collin Murray-Boyles led the offense with 25 points and Nick Pringle earned a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Defensively, the team held Auburn to just 66 points and the Tigers have been averaging 86.6 points per game.

The Commodores come into Wednesday’s game in 11th place in the conference standings with an SEC record of 1-2 and an overall record of 13-3 so far. The team opened conference play with an 80-72 win over LSU, but has lost its last two games with the most recent being a 75-66 loss to Missouri on Saturday. Jason Edwards finished the game with 20 points to lead the offense, while MJ Collins and Chris Manon joined him in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Devin McGlockton pulled down 10 rebounds to lead on the boards and added six points to the scoreboard.

Vanderbilt and South Carolina have met a total of 66 times in their history and the Commodores hold a slight lead in the series at 34-32. The teams’ last meeting took place in Columbia and went in the Gamecocks’ favor with a 75-60 victory.
