Arizona looks to get its season back on track against a streaking Southern Utah team in Tucson on Saturday in college basketball.
With the visitors looking to continue a strong start to the season riding a two-game winning streak, Southern Utah visits non-conference foe Arizona in Tucson on Saturday.
Although it’s the visitors who are coming in red hot, Arizona is the power five school that is trying to get its season back on track. The Wildcats have lost two-straight games to drop to 3-4 overall with a 2-1 home record this season. Arizona’s two recent losses came in the Battle 4 Atlantis, where it went 1-2 in the tournament. Southern Utah, on the other hand, has won two consecutive games to improve to 8-2 overall with a perfect 6-0 home record. However, the Birds are only 1-2 on the road. This is the first meeting between these two teams in history.

Most recently, Arizona fell in overtime at the Battle 4 Atlantis in a 83-76 loss to West Virginia in the Bahamas last Friday. Tucker DeVries led the way in the loss with 26 points for West Virginia, while Caleb Love’s 24 points were a team-high for the Wildcats. Trey Townsend also added 19 points in 41 minutes for Arizona in the overtime loss.
As for Southern Utah, the T-Birds rolled in a 90-55 win over Park University in Cedar City to improve to a perfect 6-0 at home on Tuesday night. Jeffrey Langston Jr. led the Thunderbirds with a season-high 14 points, while Jamir Simpson added 12 points and seven rebounds. 13 different players scored at least two points for Southern Utah.
