The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will travel to Virginia on Friday night for an Atlantic 10 matchup against the VCU Rams at the Siegel Center. The Bonnies have lost two games in a row with the most recent being a 75-62 loss to Atlantic-10 leading George Mason on Tuesday, moving to 15-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play. The Bonnies were led by Melvin Council Jr. who scored 18 points. Duane Thompson came off the bench to add another 16 points to the scoreboard and pull down a team-leading seven rebounds in the loss. The Bonnies struggled with shooting at 39 percent from the field and just 31 percent from long range.

The Rams are currently sitting in second place in the Atlantic 10 standings with a conference record of 5-1 and an overall record of 15-4. The team dropped its conference-opener to St. Bonaventure in a close 77-75 defeat, but bounced back to win the next five including a big 81-57 win over Rhode Island on Tuesday night. Joe Bamisile paced four to double digit finished with 24 points. Max Shulga finished the game with 15 points while Jack Clark and Zeb Jackson rounded out the double digit scorers with 12 and 11 points, respectively. The team only shot 38 percent from the field and 34 percent from beyond the arc, but it was enough to make it past Rhode Island.

St. Bonaventure and VCU have met a total of 17 times in their history and the Bonnies currently hold a 9-8 advantage in the series. The Rams will look to avenge the earlier season loss on Friday night at home.
