Stanford and Georgia Tech will go head-to-head on Wednesday night as the teams meet for the first time in ACC college basketball play.

The Stanford Cardinal will play the first of two road games on Wednesday night against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at McCamish Pavilion for an ACC college basketball matchup. The Ramblin’ Wreck is currently in 13th place in the ACC standings with a conference record of 5-8 and an overall record of 11-13. On Saturday, the team traveled to take on Virginia, falling in a tough 75-61 defeat to break a two-game winning streak. Naithan George led the Georgia Tech offense with a 20-point performance and was joined in double figures by Duncan Powell and Bay Ndongo, who scored 18 and 15 points, respectively. Despite the strong offensive performances, the Cavaliers used their depth and strong shooting to earn the win.

The team is coming off of a pair of home games in which it fell to Wake Forest in the first (79-73) and defeated NC State by a narrow one-point margin in a 74-73 victory. Maxime Raynaud led all scorers with 25 points, while three of his teammates joined him in double figures. Raynaud also led the team on the boards with 12 rebounds, 11 of which were defensive, to earn a double-double in the win.

Stanford and Georgia Tech have only met three times in their history and all of the meetings took place in holiday tournaments. The last time the teams played each other dates back to Dec. 2000 when the Cardinal won 80-66.
