Two of the most notable contestants in the three-point contest this year will be Iowa’s Payton Sandfort and Creighton’s Steven Ashworth. Sandfort averaged 16.7 points per game this season for the Hawkeyes while shooting 34% from the three-point line. He has never shot under 34% from behind the arc in his career.

The Bluejays’ Ashworth averaged 16.4 points per game and was a renowned three-point threat. This season, he averaged 37% from behind the arc, his third-best season in his five-year collegiate career. The field will consist of a few others of college basketball’s most notable shooters from around the country.

Norfolk State’s Christian Ings will highlight the slam dunk contest. Back in February, Ings had the No. 3 and No. 1 top plays of the night on Sportscenter after two highlight-reel dunks. The All-MEAC third-team member averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 48.9% from the field. He led his team to an NCAA Tournament berth as well.
