The No. 3-seeded UAB will take on the No. 1-seeded Memphis in the championship game in the American Athletic Conference Tournament in men’s college basketball at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, on Sunday afternoon. The No. 1-seeded Tigera are 28-5 overall this season and are also the No. 16-ranked team in the nation, according to the AP poll. After finishing the regular season with a 16-2 record against conference teams, they started their tournament run against Wichita State in the quarterfinals, winning by three points.

The No. 3- seeded Blazers head into the championship game with a 22-11 record, looking to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament through an automatic qualifier. They started their tournament run in the quarterfinals with a matchup against East Tennessee in a game that was never really a game. They won 94-77.

Yaxel Leneborg led the team with 30 points on 9-of-16 shooting and a massive 20 rebounds and eight assists. Advancing to the semifinals, they took on North Texas and won by 10 points. Again, Lendeborg had a great night with a game-high 23 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists. UAB runs everything through Lendeborg, and he has proven to be resilient.
