The Memphis Tigers go for a seventh win in a row against the Temple Owls in college basketball action.

The last time 17th ranked Memphis (19-4) lost a game it came against the very same team it is playing here. Since losing to Temple (14-9) three weeks ago the Tigers have found their stripes winning six straight games overall. Five of those wins have come by double-figures with the Tigers rising up and holding onto the top spot in the American Atlantic Conference. In the first game between the teams the Owls earned an 88-81 win over the Tigers after building a modest first half lead. Then, in the second half the Owls played with the explosive Tigers offense nearly matching them point-for-point where both teams combined for 103 total points.

That loss is still the only one this season where the Tigers lost a game while scoring at least 80 points. The high-scoring Tigers offense has scored over 80 points in 12 games, including three games against ranked opponents, and the only blemish on their record came against the Owls.

Senior Jamal Mashburn Jr. led five Owls in double-figures in the upset win. He finished with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists. Junior Shane Dezonie came off the bench for 15 points and 13 rebounds, just his second double-double of the season.

The Tigers were led by junior PJ Haggerty with 21 points on 9-13 shooting from the free-throw line. Tyrese Hunter (16 points and six assists), Dain Dainja (14 points and five rebounds) and Nick Jourdain (11 points) all scored in double-figures in the loss.
