With both teams coming off losses earlier this week in conference play, Alabama-Birmingham squares off against AAC rival Tulsa at Bartow Arena in Birmingham on Saturday. The Golden Hurricane were riding a two-game winning streak until they fell to Rice earlier this week at the Reynolds Center. Tulsa is now 6-8 overall with an 0-1 conference record and an 0-2 record on the road this season. UAB, on the other hand, also saw its two-game winning streak snapped by North Texas, dropping its record to an even 7-7 overall with an 0-1 record in conference play. The Blazers are 6-3 at home compared to 0-2 on the road this season. The Blazers have won four-straight games over Tulsa, including a 70-63 victory last season.

Most recently, Tulsa couldn’t keep pace in the second half in a 70-64 loss to Rice in the Golden Hurricane’s conference opener earlier this week. Dwon Odom led all scorers with 18 points while Tysahwn Archie added 16 points and Keaston Willis poured in 11 points, with three Tulsa players finishing the loss in double figures. 

As for the Blazers, UAB fell at the buzzer in a 78-75 loss to North Texas in Denton on Tuesday night. Atin Wright hit a three-pointer as time expired to give North Texas the win. Alejandro Vasquez led the way with 15 points and Butta Johnson added 13 points in the loss.
