After beating the Pirates, they took on and beat North Texas in the semifinal round. The barely missed an NCAA Tournament automatic bid after losing to the No. 16-ranked nationally Memphis in the championship game.

Heading to the NIT, they opened the tournament in the first round against Saint Joseph’s of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They won that game by four points, 69-65, on the back of a 16-point night from Yaxel Lendeborg to lead the team. Lendeborg also had a massive 17 rebounds and three assists as well. Christian Coleman came off the bench for 26 minutes and had 15 points and seven rebounds.
The Broncos will play this second-round game with a 21-12 record overall. They opened their conference tournament in the West Coast Conference after a 12-6 regular season just to lose in the quarterfinals to Pepperdine by two points in their first game, 78-76. With the NIT in sight, they started this tournament run with a game against UC Riverside.
They dominated that first-round contest with a 101-62 win against the Big West Conference team. Tyeree Bryan led the team with 17 points in a game-high performance. Bryan had seven rebounds and three assists as well. Four of the five starters for Santa Clara finished in double figures as well as Jakee Ensminger off the bench.
