UCLA, the No. 18 ranked team in men’s college basketball, will travel to New York City, New York, on Saturday afternoon. In NYC, they will battle it out with North Carolina in the CBS Sports Classic at Madison Square Garden. The Bruins have lost just one game this season in 11 games head into this weekend. That loss came in their second game of the season against New Mexico at home by eight points. After ending November with wins, though not testing wins, they opened December with a win over Washington at home.

They also won back-to-back top-25 ranked games against former No. 12 Oregon and former ranked Arizona by a total of five points in both games. Oregon State transfer Tyler Bilodeau leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Eric Dailey Jr. is the only other person averaging double figures with 11.6 points per game.

The Tar Heels have fallen to 6-5 overall this season, with all five losses coming against current AP Top 25 ranked teams. Four of the five losses have been to current AP Top 10 teams, including Auburn, Kansas, Alabama, and most recently, Florida. Their other loss was to Michigan State. They do have a Top-25 win as well, as they took down No. 22-ranked Dayton in the first round of the Maui Invitational last week.

Since then, they have also beaten La Salle and their first conference game against Georgia Tech. RJ Davis leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 18.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Ian Jackson has been the bright spot on this team, averaging 10.8 points and 2.8 rebounds per game as a freshman.
