In Tennessee, UNC Greensboro will face-off with Chattanooga at McKenzie Arena. The UNC Greensboro Spartans (9-6, 2-0) are off to a hot start in conference play after finishing their non-conference schedule with an underwhelming 7-6 record. They opened up the new year by squeaking out a two-point win over Wofford on the road, led by a 16-point performance from Ronald Polite III.

They took that momentum into their next game, coming back home and beating Furman 84-67. Kenyon Giles led the Spartans with 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting and five rebounds. Giles is the leader on this team, averaging 16.6 points, a team-high, along with 2.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

The Chattanooga Mocs (9-6, 1-1) ended with a better non-conference record, but they have also already lost their first conference game through just two games in 2025. They closed out last year with three straight wins before a loss by only nine points on the road to a well-balanced Indiana team. Honor Huff had 20 points in a game-high in the loss.

They opened 2025 with an overtime loss on the road at Mercer by five points in their first Southern Conference game of the season. Frank Champion had 24 points in that loss to lead the team. They went on to win their first conference game last weekend against The Citadel, also on the road, led by Bash Wieland, who had 21 points. Trey Bonham hasn’t led the team in any of those game, but he has the highest average on the team this season, averaging 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
