Atlantic 10 basketball play continues on Tuesday night with a game between VCU and Rhode Island in men’s college basketball action.

The VCU Rams will travel to Kingston on Tuesday night for an Atlantic 10 battle against the Rhode Island Rams at the Thomas M. Ryan Center. Rhode Island is currently in sixth place in the A-10 standings with a conference record of 3-3 and an overall record of 14-4. The team’s most recent game was played against Davidson over the weekend and it was able pull off a last second 92-90 win over the Wildcats. Sebastian Thomas and David Green each scored 22 points to lead the Rams’ offense and Thomas added 10 assists to the stat sheet to earn a double-double in the win. David Fuchs led the team on the boards with 11 rebounds to go along with six points.

VCU brings a four-game win streak into Tuesday night’s game with the most recent being a 78-69 win over Saint Joseph’s on Friday night bringing their overall record to 14-4 and their conference record to 4-1 for a spot in second place in the conference standings. Against the Hawks, five Rams finished in double figures, led by Jack Clark who scored 18 points. Phillip Russell added 16 points to the scoreboard and Max Shulga finished right behind him with 14 points and a team-leading nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double in the team’s fourth straight win.

VCU and Rhode Island have met 19 times in their history and VCU currently holds a slight 10-9 lead in the series. The last time the teams met was during the 2023-2024 season and the game went in VCU’s favor with an 88-67 win.
