Isaac McKneely and Virginia will take the court against J.J. Starling and Syracuse in an ACC battle on Saturday night.

Virginia will travel to Syracuse, New York, this weekend in an Atlantic Coast Conference battle in the season finalé in men’s college basketball. On Saturday night, it will face Syracuse at the JMA Wireless Dome. The Virginia Cavaliers are 15-15 overall this season and are in the middle of the ACC with an 8-11 record against teams in the conference. They are two games behind Georgia Tech, tied with Virginia Tech, and one game ahead of Florida State and Pitt. They lost last weekend against former No. 13 Clemson on the road by 13 points.

Isaac McKneely led the team with 26 points in the loss. They bounced back in the middle of the week against Florida State by three points at home. Dai Dai Ames led the team with 18 points in the win. McKneely leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 14.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Only one other player is averaging over double digits this season.

The Syracuse Orange are 12-18 overall this season and have fallen to 6-13 in the conference. They are a half-game behind Cal and Notre Dame and a game ahead of NC State. Two games separate these two teams in the conference. Syracuse is on the outside looking in for the NCAA Tournament and will need a miracle in the ACC Tournament to go dancing this season.

They are doing themselves no favors, losing five of their last six games. They lost to Virginia Tech at home by six points in overtime, followed by a Tuesday loss against SMU in Dallas, Texas, by two points. JJ Starling leads the team and will match up with McKneely, averaging 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
