The Boston College Eagles will host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Tuesday night at Conte Forum for an ACC matchup as the teams look to finish the regular season strong. The Eagles come into Tuesday night’s game with a conference record of 2-12 and an overall record of 10-15 for a spot in 17th place in the ACC standings. The team has lost four games in a row with the most recent being a 70-62 loss to NC State on the road over the weekend. Donald Hand Jr. led the team in scoring with 22 points while Chad Venning and Chas Kelley III joined him in double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively. Venning and Fred Payne each pulled down eight rebounds to lead on the boards and while it helped to keep possession, it wasn’t enough to keep the Wolf Pack within reach.

The Hokies are currently in 12th place in the ACC standings with a conference record of 6-8 and an overall record of 11-14. The team’s last time on the court took place on Saturday at hoe and resulted in a tough 73-70 loss to in-state rival Virginia. Tobi Lawal led all scorers with a career-high tying 23 points and Ben Hammond added another 11 to the scoreboard. Lawal also led the Hokies in rebounding efforts, pulling down seven, all of which were defensive. The game remained tight from the tip off and only saw the score tied three times and the lead change twice. The Cavaliers held a three-point lead with under a minute left to play and both Brandon Rechsteiner and Ben Burnham had a chance to tie it with three-point attempts, but they both missed and the Hokies were forced to take the loss.

Boston College and Virginia Tech have met a total of 36 times in their history and the Eagles hold a 23-13 lead in the all-time series. The teams’ last meeting took place during the 2023-2024 season and went in the Hokies’ favor with a 76-71 victory.
