UNC-Asheville goes for its third win in a row when it hosts Western Carolina on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs look to stay perfect at home with a 2-0 record and above .500 with a 5-4 overall record. UNC_Asheville is coming off its most dominant win of the season beating Bluefield (Va.) to keep it winless by a 92-46 final. The Bulldogs outscored their opponent 56-24 in the first half. Head Coach Mike Morrell hit the century mark in wins with the victory. He became the quickest coach to reach that mark in UNC-Asheville history.

All 12 Bulldogs scored at least once and added an assist in the game with Connor Dubsky leading the pack with 23 points. He shot 50 percent from both the field and the three-point line. Toyaz Solomon and Kameron Taylor backed him up scoring 14 points apiece. The defense was on par with the offense with UNC-Asheville forcing 19 turnovers that led to 23 points. The Bulldogs will be the distinct favorites at home this afternoon.

Western Carolina meanwhile is trying to win its first game on the road this season with a 3-5 overall record. The Catamounts are trying to avoid losing back-to-back games after losing a close one 74-68 against USC Upstate at home. The game was close until USC Upstate came into the second half with an 18-2 run. Bernard Pelote and Cord Stansberry led the Catamounts with 14 points apiece. After a good start to the season, Western Carolina has lost four of its last five games and will face an uphill battle on the road today.
