Noah Collier and William & Mary will take the court against Cruz Davis and Hofstra in a CAA battle on Thursday night.

William and Mary will travel to Hempstead, New York, on Thursday night for a conference battle in the Coastal Athletic Association in men’s college basketball. In New York, they will match up with Hofstra at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. The Hofstra Pride (8-5, 0-0) will open conference play after winning eight non-conference costs over the course of two months. They closed out December with a two-game losing streak after dropping a game to Temple at home by 18 points and Quinnipiac by six points in overtime on the road.

Hofstra opened the month with a third-place game in the Baha Mar Hoops, Nassau Championship against Arkansas State and won by two points. They also beat St. Joe’s Ll and lost to Norfolk State in the previous, five-game month. Cruz Davis, who has played in all 12 games this season, leads the team on the court. The 6-foot-3 guard is averaging 15.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

The William and Mary Tribe (6-7, 0-0) have also played in 13 non-conference games this season. They came away with an under-.500 record despite winning three of five games in December. They went 3-5 in November and lost to just Old Dominion and VCU on the road in the month.

They won all three games of the month at home, beating VA-Lynchburg by 54 points, Richmond by six points, and Navy by six points to end the month. Noah Collier, who has also played in all 13 games this season, leads the team in scoring. He is averaging 13.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game as a senior.
