No. 7 Marquette looks to stay undefeated at home against Xavier at Fiserv Forum on Saturday.

With the seventh-ranked team in the nation riding a six-game winning streak into this weekend’s Big East matchup, No. 7 Marquette hosts Xavier at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Saturday. 

Marquette has opened its conference slate with a perfect 6-0 record in Big East play. Shaka Smart’s squad is 15-2 overall with a 10-0 record at home this season, and will now host Xavier, who is just 1-4 on the road this season. The Musketeers are 11-7 overall with a 3-4 record in Big East play, but nine of their 11 wins have come at home this season. Marquette has won five consecutive games in the series against Xavier, including a 72-70 win last December. Overall, Xavier holds a slight 19-17 edge in the all-time series.

Most recently, Marquette needed a late rally to avoid an upset against DePaul, earning an 85-83 victory in overtime last Tuesday night. Senior forward David Joplin finished with a career-high 30 points and guard Kam Jones added 18 points, 11 assists and six rebounds. 

As for Xavier, the Musketeers notched their second straight win with a 69-63 victory over Villanova in Cincinnati on Tuesday night. Ryan Conwell scored a game-high 34 points in the win, with Xavier opening hte game on an 13-4 run to take control early in the contest. 

Marquette looks to stay undefeated at home and in conference play against Xavier on Saturday.
