Because of their seeding in the tournament at No. 2, this will be Florida A&M’s first game of the conference championship after finishing with an 11-7 conference record, tied with Southern, but getting the No. 2 seed on a tiebreaker. They also finished only 14-15 overall this season, which was three games back from Bethune-Cookman in an overall record.

Dorian McMillan came off the bench in the win and had 15 points and five rebounds in 18 minutes. The winner of this game will advance to play the winner of No. 3-seeded Southern vs the No. 6 seed Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the other quarterfinal matchup.
