The Maryland Terrapins hit the road on Thursday night to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Terrapins come into Thursday fresh off a 90-81 win over Rutgers and it has improved their record to 18-6 overall and 8-5 in the Big Ten. They have been playing great basketball over the last month as they have won six of their last eight games. Their two losses in that stretch were by a combined five points. One was in overtime to Northwestern and the other was a three-point setback at Ohio State. This will be the second meeting between the two teams as they met back on January 19th with the Terrapins coming away with a 69-66 victory. They led through most of the game and survived a late ralley to get the win. Ja’Kobi Gillespie scored a game-high 22 points in the win. Gillespie is second on the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game, while Derik Queen is tops at 15.5 points per game.

The Cornhuskers come into Thursday on a four-game winning streak and it has pushed their record to 16-8 overall and 6-7 in the Big Ten. They had been struggling ast hey had lost six in a row, but they have slowly turned things around starting with an upset win over No. 18 Illinois back on January 30th.
They have stayed hot in beating Oregon and Washington on the road and then beating Ohio State at home on Sunday. The Cornhuskers is leading the team in scoring at 19.4 points per game, while Juwan Gray and Connor Essegian are also averaging double figures at 13.1 and 11.0 points per game respectively.
