The Rams and the Wolf Pack will conclude regular season play on Saturday afternoon in Reno as they prepare for the Mountain West tournament.

The Nevada Wolf Pack will host the Colorado State Rams at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park on Saturday afternoon as the teams’ regular season comes to a close. The Rams are currently in last place in the Mountain West standings with a conference record of 6-15 and an overall record of 16-31. The team will look to avoid a sweep on Saturday with a win after dropping the first game of the series 7-3 and a the second 8-0 in just five innings on Friday. The Rams were only able to muster two hits on Friday night which came from the bats of Kaylynn English and Carolina Buffaloe. Giselle Bentley was credited with the loss in the circle after pitching for four innings and giving up all eight earned runs.

With Friday night’s win, the Wolf Pack extended their win streak to five games and improved to 39-12 overall and 17-4 in conference play which has them sitting atop the Mountain West standings. Ainsley Berlingeri pitched a complete game for Nevada, only giving up two hits and striking out three batters in her 10th win of the season. Maya Larsen led the offense with three RBI, hitting a two-run homer to left field in the first and an RBI single in the fifth.

Colorado State and Nevada have now met a total of 39 times and the Wolf Pack holds a narrow 20-19 lead in the all-time series. Nevada has now won eight games in a row against the Rams.
