Tru Washington and New Mexico will take the court in a MWC showdown against Tyson Degenhart and Boise State on Wednesday in college basketball.

New Mexico will travel to Boise, Idaho in the middle of this week for a college basketball matchup between two Mountain West Conference teams. On Wednesday, it will face-off against Boise State at ExtraMile Arena. The New Mexico Lobos are 22-4 overall this season and they lead the Mountain West Conference with an 11-1 record against the other teams in the MWC. They are two games ahead of Utah State, who is 12-3, and 3.5 games over San Diego State and Colorado State, who are both 10-4 against conference teams.

New Mexico extended its winning streak to eight games after taking down the conference’s No. 2 team, Utah State, over the weekend. It came away with an 82-79 win led by a 25-point performance from Tru Washington on 8-of-15 shooting and a team-high four assists. Jovan Milicevic led the team with seven rebounds and also scored five points, despite being 0-for-4 from three.

The Boise State Broncos are 17-8 overall this season. After going 8-3 against non-conference teams, they have since won nine games and lost five in 14 conference games. They are 4.5 games behind their opponent, the conference leader, with all three aforementioned teams between the two. They are also 1.5 games behind UNLV, who is 8-7 in the conference.

In the last two weeks, Boise State has taken the court just once in a road game against San Diego State. The team ended up losing that game 65-47, with Tyson Degenhart leading Boise State with 17 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. He was the only player in double figures, as Alvaro Cardenas, who led the team with three assists, was the next highest scorer at eight points.
