How to Watch NFL Week 16

Week 16 has plenty of playoff implications. The Saints avenged their last year's loss in the playoffs to the Vikings by knocking them out of the playoffs this year and clinching the NFC South. Their division rivals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, secured their first playoff appearance since 2007. They earned a Wild Card spot after Tom Brady led the team to five first half TD-scoring drives. These are the games we are looking forward to most with some of the biggest playoff implications.

The first big game on Sunday is between the Indianapolis Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The way the Steelers season is going, the Steelers are going to get passed up by the Colts in the AFC playoff standings. At the beginning of the month Pittsburgh was undefeated and was the best team in the league. Even over the defending Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Then the wheels absolutely fell off. First against a resurgent Washington team led by QB Alex Smith. Then they lost to the Bills which makes sense. They're a good team and won the AFC East for the first time since 1995. But then they inexplicably lost to the Bengals who are without their rookie sensation quarterback Joe Burrow and had only won two games prior to that.

This team could lose the rest of it's games playing a stout Colts defense and the Browns who are trying to end the league's longest playoff drought since 2002. If the Steelers keep losing like they are, the Browns might have a chance to win the AFC North. Something they have never done since the division was realigned in 2002.

The next game is for all of the marbles in the NFC West. The Los Angeles Rams visit the Seattle Seahawks which both teams have been very up and down this season. The Seahawks were in the driver seat for much of the season and Russell Wilson looked like the MVP for most of the first half.

Then he started throwing many picks, with a chance to take a firm lead in the division they lost to the Giants starting their backup and they got beat physically by the Rams in their first meeting in Week 10.

They are now leading the division though winning four of their last five and the Rams somehow lost to the previously winless New York Jets. If Seattle wins they have a chance to lock up the division no matter if the Rams beat the Cardinals next week.

It becomes more interesting though if the Rams win which gives them equal records with the tie breaker with that previous win. The division then might come down to whoever can pull off a win in the final week of the season. As the legendary De La Soul said, stakes is high.
