The Detroit Lions play their annual Thanksgiving home game when they take on the Chicago Bears. The Lions come into Thursday on a nine-game winning streak and 10-1 on the season. The Lions currently are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the NFL and are a game up on the Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the NFC. The defense has stepped up over the last two weeks as they have given up just 12 total points to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts. The offense has also shown they can score a lot of points as they have put up at least 42 points four different times and have scored 52 twice. It has been a dominant stretch for the Lions, but they can’t let up with the Eagles right behind them.

The Bears have been going the other way as they come into Thursday on a five-game losing streak and back-to-back close losses to the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. Two weeks ago they had a game-winning field goal blocked by the Packers as time expired and last weekend they lost to the Vikings in overtime after they couldn’t move the ball on the first possession of the extra time.
Caleb Williams has looked good in the last two games, but it hasn’t been quite enough to get them wins. Thursday they will look to snap out of their funk and finally get back in the win column. They aren’t out of the playoff picture yet, but they have to win out to really have a shot. It isn’t going to be easy, though, as they have to play the Lions twice in the next four weeks.
