The Chicago Bears return from a bye week with a tough test on the road to the Washington Commanders. Live stream on Fubo.

The most imposing offense in the NFL right now will go up against one of its most stringent defenses when the Chicago Bears (4-2) make the trip to the Washington Commanders (5-2) on Sunday. No team in the league has scored more points than NFC East leader Washington so far in the 2024 campaign, while only one outfit has conceded fewer points than the Bears until now. Chicago collected a convincing win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London a fortnight ago before heading for its bye week and hopes to get back into the swing of things by picking up a fourth straight win in Maryland.

The Bears are enjoying a rich vein of form and have a chance to win four in a row for the first time since clinching the NFC North championship in 2018.

However, blocking the way is a Washington side whose only defeats so far this year came against two other teams looking certain to feature in the play-off picture (the Ravens and the Buccaneers).

The big storyline coming into this Week 8 matchup was the rookie-versus-rookie battle that was due to take place between the top two picks in this year’s NFL Draft: Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels.

However, Washington standout Daniels will miss this week due to a rib injury, meaning Marcus Mariota will be called on to start for the Commanders:

The stage is set for the two first-year quarterbacks to put on a show if Daniels can be fit in time, though Chicago will be only too happy to try and capitalize on his absence should he miss out.

Washington receiver Dyami Brown was also limited in practice this week, while Chicago defensive back duo Jaquan Brisker (concussion) and Kyler Gordon (hamstring) both look likely to remain sidelined.

Regional restrictions may apply.
