Can the Carolina Panthers build on the momentum of last week’s win when they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday?
Was last week the start of something big for the Carolina Panthers (1-2)? Last week the Panthers shocked the NFL when they announced they’d be benching 2023 first-overall pick Bryce Young just two games into his second NFL season in favor of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton. In the end the changed seemed to spark the Panthers, who went on the road and beat the Las Vegas Raiders 36-22. Dalton was a big part of that win, completing 26 of his 37 pass attempts for 319 yards and three touchdowns. His leading receiver was offseason trade acquisition Diontae Johnson, who caught eight passes for 122 yards and a score. On the ground, running back Chubba Hubbard added 114 yards on 21 carries. The Panthers will try to put together a similar performance this week when they host a struggling Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) team.

Meanwhile the Bengals are still looking for their first win of the year. All three losses have come by single-score margins, including a 38-33 defeat at the hands of the Washington Commanders last week.
The good news is there was plenty for Cincinnati to build on offensively from that most recent loss. Joe Burrow completed 29 of his 38 passes for 324 yards, and Ja’Marr Chase finally got going with six catches for 118 yards and two scores. Plus, it was the first game this year where the Bengals didn’t turn the ball over. They didn’t punt either.
