The Texans travel to Indianapolis to take on the division rival Colts in the first game of the season
The Houston Texans begin their defense of the AFC South on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Indianapolis Colts. The Texans completed a huge turnaround last season as rookie quarterback CJ Stroud led the team to an AFC South Championship after finishing 3-13-1 the season before. It was an unexpected division title for the Texans and they are looking to make it back-to-back crowns this season. Stroud was fantastic in his first year after being drafted out of Ohio State. He threw for 4,108 yards and 23 touchdowns in his rookie season. He would throw just five interceptions and is looking to show that it wasn’t just a one time thing this season. His first test is a Colts team that they split with last season.

The Colts knocked off the Texans in Week 2 last season, but lost in the last week of the season in a game that would have sent them to the playoffs.
They will be looking to avenge that loss and pick up a huge win at home with quarterback Anthony Richardson back after missing most of last season with an injury.
Richardson played just four games before the injury and had thrown for 577 yards and three touchdowns in limited time.
The jury is still out on how good Richardson will be, but he is hoping to show that he belongs against the Texans on Sunday.
The Colts started the season just 3-5 and are hoping they can get off to a quicker start as they try and make it back to the playoffs.
