The Washington Commanders have locked up a wild card spot but are by no means talking the Dallas Cowboys lightly as their NFL regular season ends on Sunday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders have plenty to play for as they bring the curtain down on their NFL regular season on the road to the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday. Washington’s overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17 was enough to lock down a wild card spot and put the Commanders in the NFC sixth seed heading into the regular-season crescendo this weekend. However, defeat to 7-9 Dallas coupled with a Green Bay Packers win over the Chicago Bears could spell disaster in terms of the 11-5 Commanders’ play-off prospects as they return to the post-season for the first time since 2020.

Victory at AT&T Stadium will be enough in itself to secure the NFC’s sixth seed outright, which would mean a road fixture against either the Los Angeles Rams or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild card round.

Either of those trips could prove very tricky considering Washington’s season started with a 37-20 defeat at Raymond James Stadium, while the Rams have become a force to be reckoned with as the campaign has progressed.

However, defeat to the Cowboys and a win for the Packers (also 11-5) would mean a wild card visit to the Philadelphia Eagles, who will have a fully fit Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley back for the play-offs.

There isn’t a team in the NFL who will like that prospect at present, and Quinn will be sending Jayden Daniels, Terry McLaurin and the rest of his first string out to get the job done in Arlington.

Zach Ertz came up spades in overtime to devastate the Falcons and send Washington to its first play-off game since 2020, not to mention securing $750,000 in bonuses in the process:

That’s after the tight end grabbed his sixth touchdown of the season, while also bringing in his 60th reception of the year and surpassing 600 receiving yards.

Ertz will be just one member of Daniels’ receiver corps in need of a big performance against Dallas, who is bound to be licking its wounds somewhat after finishing third in the NFC East.
