The NFL will open up the full slate of games this Sunday with 28 teams taking the field for the first time during the regular season in 2023. The excitement is at an all-time high as every team has Super Bowl aspirations. Here is who can walk away from Week 1 one step closer to the title.

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
In a division rivalry in Week 1, the revamped Carolina Panthers complete with new offensive weapons, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and an offensive-minded coaching staff. Despite the rise of the Falcons’ sophomore class and the reins given over to Desmond Ridder, Carolina still takes this match but not by much.
Carolina Panthers 21 – Atlanta Falcons 17
San Francisco 49ers at Pittsburgh Steelers
The San Francisco 49ers had Super Bowl hopes last season before every quarterback on their roster went down with injury and Christian McCaffrey finished the game under center. Despite a loss before the big game, SF found its new quarterback in former Iowa State signal-caller Brock Purdy. They narrowly take down the red-hot, young Steelers corps.
San Francisco 49ers 24 – Pittsburgh Steelers 21
Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens
The Houston Texans had all of the spotlights on the night of the NFL Draft after selecting Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud and traded back up to No. 3 to select Alabama defensive end, Will Anderson. However, they will still be no match for Lamar Jackson and a new contract. Baltimore will win big with Mark Andrews, who is questionable, and it will be interesting to see how Odell Beckham Jr. fits into this scheme.
Houston Texans 10 – Baltimore Ravens 31
Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns
The Cincinnati Bengals are back for round three of their attempts to win a Super Bowl, and it starts with a division rival matchup with Cleveland. Joe Burrow is cleared to play, but the Browns will be no rollover. I expect a low-scoring game as both defenses stand in Week 1.
Cincinnati Bengals 17 – Cleveland Browns 14
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Minnesota Vikings
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be one of the worst teams in the NFL and Baker Mayfield is on yet another team. The Minnesota Vikings had yet another year with one of the strongest offenses in the league, and it should benefit in this game with a big win.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3 – Minnesota Vikings 21
Tennessee Titans at New Orleans Saints
Derek Carr’s transformation from Las Vegas to New Orleans is going to be one of the best things for this franchise since Drew Brees. The sophomore leap of Chris Olave and the resurgence of Michael Thomas could make huge waves despite Alvin Kamara missing this game due to suspension.
Tennessee Titans 7 – New Orleans Saints 23
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
Trevor Lawrence is proving in the NFL why he was one of the best No. 1 overall picks of the last decade. He took this team to the NFL Playoffs last year and will be looking to do it again. To start the season off, he gets rookie Anthony Richardson, who is bound to throw at least one interception.
Jacksonville Jaguars 27 – Indianapolis Colts 17
Arizona Cardinals at Washington Commanders
The world is about to see how good Sam Howell can be. Despite the injury report of Terry McLaurin, Howell and Dotson could prove to be the sleeper combination of the year. The backfield of Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson is thunder and lightning. Look for a big Week 1 win for Washington.
Arizona Cardinals 14 – Washington Commanders 22
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos
Russell Wilson had the worst year of his career last season despite Denver giving up some of the most serious draft capital to retain his rights. With the help of new coach Sean Payton, Wilson and company will start the season with a win against Josh McDaniels and Jimmy G.
Las Vegas Raiders 10 – Denver Broncos 13
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers
This is the best game on the Sunday circuit. Two highly potent offenses will take the field as Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen will take the field against Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill. This game will come down to which offense can out shoot the other, and LA will be the one.
Miami Dolphins 34 – Los Angeles Chargers 37

Philadelphia Eagles at New England Patriots
The Philadelphia Eagles left the field on the Super Bowl last year with heads down and defeat in their head. They are back this year with a similarly structured team and Jalen Hurts will have another MVP-caliber season.
Philadelphia Eagles 23 – New England Patriots 14
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
The most underrated team of the 2023 season is the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers is gone and people thought the regression from Favre to him was going to be massive and it wasn’t. We are reliving history and Jordan Love is about to step up to the plate and dominate the division rival.
Green Bay Packers 27 – Chicago Bears 20
Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks
Geno Smith and his corps of receivers in Seattle are going to be hard to beat, but the Rams are up to the task. However, they will be without superstar receiver Cooper Kupp leaving their top weapons as Tyler Higbee and Van Jefferson giving the edge to Seattle.
Los Angeles Rams 14 – Seattle Seahawks 21
Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
Division rivals are back at it again. There is no team that can get under the skin like a team in the division. Last year, these teams went back and forth, and this game will be no different with Dak Prescott and Tony Pollard taking the edge.
Dallas Cowboys 23 – New York Giants 21
Buffalo Bills at New York Jets
The showdown of Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers will be a great game to watch. The new versus the old. This game will be a shootout and a defensive chess match. I predict New York to walk away with a narrow win because its defense is better than Buffalo’s.
Buffalo Bills 20 – New York Jets 21
